Pre-requisites

-Darwine is only compatible with Macs that come with the intel processor.
-If you have Tiger installed on your Mac, you need to install the X11 tool as described here
If you have Leopard then X11 will be already installed by default
-You need to install the latest version of XQuartz from here

Installing Darwine

There are no offcial releases of Darwine yet but you can download unofficial releases from many sites like this one

Installing Vector NTI

Once you have installed Darwine you are ready to download and install the Windows version of Vector NTI on your Mac !
Optional: if you want to take advantage of the web functions of Vector NTI you need to install the Windows version of Firefox

Running Vector NTI
Go to Applications > Darwine > Sample Wine Applications > winefile.exe
Then run Vector NTI from C:\Program file\Invitrogen\Vector NTI Advance 10\Vector NTI 10.exe

Mario,

Unfortunately you can only install Darwine on OSX Tiger or Leopard ( >10.4). And it has to be an intel Mac (not PowerPc).
If you have Panther you can run the current Mac version of Vector NTI from the Invitrogen website.

Do you mean that after installing Darwin you can install and run Vector NTI directly on your Mac without installing Microsoft Windows at all??

How did you achieve to install Vector NTI? I always get some errors while installing. Is there a special way?

Cheers,
Michael

Hi Tim,
Indeed this is correct. You don't need to install Windows at all on your Mac. Simply install Darwine for free before installing Vector NTI as indicated in the guidelines above. Let me know if you have any trouble.

Hi Michael,
It should work pretty smoothly. What error are you getting ? Which Darwine installation did you use ?
